ATHENS AIRPORT TO PLAKA??
 

Hi, does anyone know the cheapest way to reach our hotel (Acropolis View) in Plaka from Athens' Airport? How much should we expect to pay for 2 persons?

There is a public bus that runs from the airport to Plaka - although I don't remember the exact cost, it must certainly be the cheapest mode of transport. IT also adds to the fun and adventure of being in a new culture!

I usually just take a regular taxi. Just make sure it has a meter or you agree on a price before you go with the driver. The price is usually between 15-18 Euros from the airport to Athens.

I stayed at the Acropolis View for a night last September and our cab driver had a really hard time finding it so before you get in the car ask them if they know where the hotel is. The hotel is on a side street and we did not have the hotel phone number which was part of our problem.

I suggest taking the airport bus to Syntagma Square and then a taxi to the hotel. There will be taxis a few metres from the bus stop in Syntagma.
Incidentally I just looked at a website
www.dilos. com and see the cheapest rates yet for Athens hotels, maybe they have reduced the prices as I believe the season has not hotted up yet.

Oh, for sure take the airport bus. It's only around 3 Euros/person and takes you right to Syntagma, from where you can walk or taxi to Acropolis View. The bus is very easy to find. Once you clear customs just follow the overhead signs to the Bus to Athens (or something similar; I don't remember the exact wording. Where you exit to the outdoors, immediately turn right and the booth selling tickets for the bus is about 30 feet down, and the bus stops right there. Couldn't be easier. Have fun!
