Athens airport to Pireus
 

Hi, Any help will be greatly appreciated. I am scheduled to arrive at the Athens airport on a Thursday in late June at 3:40 pm. I need to get over to Pireus quickly to catch a hyrdofoil or ferry to Spetses. (Hydrofoil is my first choice.)

How much is a taxi from airport to Pireus, and how long does it take?

How much is the bus? Is there an express bus? How long does it take?

What about the metro? Here is the metro map - www.ametro.gr? How much time have you got?

The Airport-Piraeus Express Bus #96 takes about an hour, more if traffic is heavy. Leaves the airport every 20-30 minutes, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 3.2 euro/pp.

In May we took the Metro from the airport to Pireus in an hour. It also involved one transfer. It cost 10 E for two of us.

I would like to get to Pireus by 5:45. The last hydrofoil is at 6:00 or 6:30, I believe. The last ferry is at 7:00 pm.

I have read mixed reports about the metro. Some say it is unpredictable and can take a long time to arrive and then get there.

Does anyone have experience with a taxi?
