A summary will do, I'd just like 2 have an idea of who will be there and wat is happening.

Many thanks!

I just want to know if you took our advice and booked the hotel at that cheap rate or are you still hoping they'll discount it because it's you?

m_kingdom Jul 10th, 2003 03:33 AM

Yes, I have booked it, however, the rate I have booked allows one to cancels one's reservation until 24hrs before arrival so if a better rate becomes available I have the option of taking it!

Didn't realize it was in the Greece forum...I'm always pulling up the Turkey forum and it comes up here, too!

can someone please help?

The article is basically a summary of traditions that are practiced by Greeks to celebrate the New Year. This article focuses on what the Athenian stars did to celebrate the new millennium. Along with the traditional card playing, drinking and partying, there were fireworks and concerts. The reference to the Grande Bretagne in the final page is that Anna Barbara (one of the then Greek sex symbols) has for the past ten years rented a suite at the Grande Bretagne and has celebrated the New Year by watching from their balcony the concerts in Syntagma Square. Once the show was over, she and her party moved over to her favorite hotel the Athens Plaza, where they continued the party in their suites.
