At last - we are leaving tomorrow

Time has flown by and tomorrow we leave to celebrate anniversary number 40, beginning in Paris. Five nights in an apartment in Paris - the city where we began our marriage, followed by 2 nights in Bruges at B&B Lut and Bruno Setola. We move on to 2 nights in Antwerp at B&B Monique Vermeire and finish up with 6 nights in Haarlem at Hotel Stempels. Both B&Bs are intriguing as is the hotel. Will follow up with trip report.

Mi Chica is still, at this late date, deciding whether to take her laptop since the apartment has wi-fi.

Thanks bozama - it looks like we will have rain for four of our days but I'll take a rainy day in Paris over a sunny day in the Maryland 'burbs anytime.

How exciting! I know the planning stage is fun but eventually you get to the point of saying, "OK it's time to go." This will be a great trip. Bon Voyage!

Think of a rainy day in Paris in April as an " authentic and romantic" episode,, you know, " April in Paris" LOL

I think it is much more incredible that you have been married for 40 years! Congratulations. We hit number 33 this year. Fortunately, DH loves to travel as much as me but it's getting more difficult as we get older! lol. Now that we have the time and money, we also have more aches and pains!!

Have a great time.

Bon voyage!

We loved having our laptop while in our Montmartre apartment last fall. Having access to restaurant listings, museum hours, directions, current info, schedules, etc. was really great. Unless you have everything all planned out for the entire stay, I'd say bring the computer along.

Have a wonderful time ... I am envious!

Definitely take the lap top. Not only were we able to check in with the world. We almost never used our phones. The apartment only had CNN in English. So, each day I would check the (bad) weather on the web. Also, we had planned ti watch some movies on the lap top until I jammed it with a DVD.

Bon voyage! And happy Anniversary!

Thank you all for the kind words. The laptop is packed and the luggage is waiting in the hallway. I'll try to update about the B&Bs and Stempels for those who are still planning.

BettyK - 33years is just a beginning. Young folk like you have plenty of fun ahead.
