Asturias without a car
I am going to Oviedo for 3 nights in mid-August and a friend has recommended that i visit Cudillero. Does anyone have any experience or tips with using either the bus or train service? Are the stations close to the town? Is it worth the visit for a 2 hour journey? Many thanks in advance, H

Cudillero is a very pretty little port town; we spent two nights there and enjoyed it very much. But we had a rental car. I am wondering if there are other picturesque port towns closer to Oviedo, so you do not have to take the 2-hour bus ride.
I think Asturias is one of the most beautiful regions of Spain. |
Oviedo is not on the coast and Asturias is a very mountainous region, so it´s not easy to get to places. Public transport is very good, and I´m sure that there´s a bus route from Oviedo to Cudillero.
Tazones, Lastres, Luanco, the Cabo de Peñas...all beautiful coastal towns and areas...but far from Oviedo. |
www.alsa.es, bus from Oviedo to Cudillero. 55 kms.

I think it's quicker by Alsa bus.
but... You can reach Cudillero from Oviedo (and other coastal villages) by FEVE train, the "milk train" which stops in every town, but you need to change trains in Pravia. See the schedules here www4.feve.es/horarios/ |
thanks very much
