ASOLO, ITALY

Any suggestions re places to stay in Asolo. Preferably not super costly like Cipriani.

Within walking of town, charming..family run.

Also looking at staying in Pordenone.

Any idea welcomed

Janet

Thank you. I think that is one of the hotels my husband latched on to! I'll take a look.

Another vote for Albergo Sole. We loved our 3 days there. If you are at all interested in gardens, we had a private tour of several gardens in town and I can get you the name/contact info of the guide if you would like. We enjoyed aperitivo at the cafe in the center of town (the owner also makes and sells award-winning olive oil) and had a wonderful dinner at a place just outside of town if you would like a recommendation.

Thank you ekc. Yes - I would like recommendations. My husband would like to stay outside of the town. I wonder if the dinner place you went to is the place he found...can't recall the name at present!

Looked on my trip report and the name of the restaurant outside of town was Baggio Ristorante (www.locandabaggio.it). We had a great meal there, after a long day of wine tastings! Small and family run.

Laura Serafin (www.bellasolo.it; [email protected]) was our guide in Asolo, who gave us an architectural and garden tour. She was very good and sweet.

The town is so small that it really wouldn't matter if you stayed in town or just outside - very charming and quiet! A wonderful little corner of Italy!
