Ashburn Gardens Apartment London

Hi, has anyone stayed at Ashburn Garden Apartment. Say are in business since 1974 but no review anywhere. Getting it for GBP 80 and looks like a good location.

You might want to include a link to get more feedback. The location is wonderful, however, judging from trip advisor the accommodations are basic and perhaps a bit on the shabby side:

Thanks for the link. Ya the review does not look too great. What is suprising is that there is no review whatsoever of this place anywhere else apart from Tripadvisor. I think its better to stay away. This apartment search is driving me crazy and I am suppose to be in London 2 weeks from now.

Any budget flat is bound to be either very basic or a bit on the old fashioned/shabby-ish side.

Ashburn Garden apts have been in business for ages. They were one of the early entrants in the holiday flat business.

They aren't going to be cutting edge or fancy -- but if you want budget accommodations in a terrific location, you could do lots (LOTS) worse. Not sure what your budget is -- but their 1-bedrooms are about as cheap as you'll find in a good/central area.

Steyed once. Never again. Shappy and very worn.

Thanks rogerdodger, staying away from it for sure. Any reviews for GLENTHURSTON at catford, the area is not central but that it is well in the budget and the apartments are good.

Catford is not a convenient place to stay -- I'd consider a down market place in the center before staying in a great flat in Catford.

To give you an example -- From Catford train station to the British Museum would take an hour plus how ever much time it takes you to get to Catford station from the flat.

To Covent Garden -- about 50 minutes.

Or from Catford to Hampton Court Palace would take 90+ minutes w/ multiple transfers between trains and buses.

You do get what you pay for -- so if a really nice apartment is really cheap -- there will be a reason - like being in Catford.

If you are willing to go a bit higher in price check out Nell Gwynn HOuse. Excellent location and very nice rooms
