Ascension Day in Rome

Does anyone know when and how Ascension Day will be celebrated in Rome this year, and how would it affect tourists?

Thanks--

Vatican Museums are closed on Ascension Day, 24th May this year. The Pope doesn't celebrate Mass at St Peter's that day. It's NOT a public holiday in Italy, so presumably banks, offices and other sights are open as usual.

Thank you, Alec. On Wednesday morning, May 23, do you know if the Pope will be blessing the crowd in the Piazza?
