So you have to leave Germany to get such treatments? I'd think it better to have some local German practitioner do it - one you could really check on as to effectiveness, etc.

Why do you have to leave Germany to get such treatments -curious if Germany bans it?

PQ, once AGAIN you have failed to read the thread. The OP needs to spend the winter somewhere warmer than Germany. Get with it.

PalenQ Dec 9th, 2017 03:29 PM

No - I realize that but OP says wants to try some alternative treatments sounding like she has not pursued them in Germany and I wonder why?

clinics or places in Lisbon where one can have alternative treatment (I take injections so I look for additional treatment) I would be very thankful.>

the way that is written sounds like OP does not get or has not sought such treatments in Germany.

No, s/he could easily have alternative treatments in Germany, and want to continue them while traveling, just as s/he will continue the injections.

@Christina: thank you for your details, unfortunately my *public* health insurance for students does not cover alternative treatments like acupuncture or spa or aqua fitness, etc. I asked several doctors and it was a no. Thank you for suggesting Hungary.

@Lisbon_Eagle and @ jpie: wow, thank you! those are the answers I was looking for. I will look into your suggestions, thanks again :)

@thursdaysd: yes, you understood me very well, thank you for answering to PalenQ. I have tried alternative things in Germany, I just happened to find out that Portugal is quite warm even during winter and looked at the temperatures and thought "what if there is some nice place with alternative treatment there that helps arthritis sufferers?".
Regarding the cimzia, I hope it will help you and I wish you the best!

BTW, Lisbon is one of my favorite cities, I hope you have a great time in Portugal. (Click on my name for my Lisbon TR.)

Cyprus is warmer and drier than Lisbon, at least at the moment. You can get treatment packages eg at Ayii Anargyri and the island has several clinics specialising in rheumatism. Must be easy to get to from Germany.

Lisbon does get 15 days on average of rain in February according to stats - yes maybe somewhere warmer and drier?
