Arriving LHR. Covid testing options?

Dear community,
I am arriving from NY on 4 Sep, then going to spain on 6 Sep.. I don't have yet any booking in any hotel. Not sure if i will pre order COVID test Kits How will i get those kits ? Because what if hotel may nor receive or misplace them ? Is there any way i get tests done in london in person and pay right over there instead of pre paying.
I am fully vaccinated in USA. I am reading right now that Amber arrival don't need Quarantine. Just 2nd day test and that's all. Not sure if its true. Also I have flight to Spain on my third from Gatwick airport. Will I have to go through all the pre departure testing again. Please do provide me with this info. I am getting nervous now. Thanks

It depends on where you are going and what you are doing. There is no flat answer to this. More details please.

I've never seen any juriisdiction have a 48 hour rule Everything I've seen has always been less than 72hrs before arrival. (not before departure...)

Per the other post....
fully vaccinated in the US, arriving from NY on 4 Sep, then going to spain on 6 Sep

I found these links to US embassy websites with more information as to each country's requirements. There are links through there to the country's own websites. The rules change so I would check back often.

Hello again. When your two threads were merged the title became "72 or 48 hours ?" which is not very descriptive for the new combined thread so we edited the title to hopefully be clearer.
