Arriving Easter Monday in London

I understand that Easter Monday is a holiday in UK. Can someone advise on possible difficulties in transport from LHR, eateries, etc. ?

Any recommendations for a decent hotel in the £50 range for a single? Do you suggest having the hotel breakfast or going out to a cafe?

well the tube will be running on a sunday schedule so check www.tfl.gov.uk for schedule if you plan to take a tube. I am not sure, but check the website for the Heathrow Express for schedules as well if you plan to take that. www.heathrowexpress.com

Check out LondonTown.com, which has good discounts on hotels and also has a useful online map for picking a hotel.

"a decent hotel in the £50 range for a single" - try the B&Bs on Gower St - e.g. Arosfa and Ridgemount. Or book a double through Priceline.

Grab a few protein bars and eat them on the way - that is if you can eat on the run

All it will mean is that very early morning trains & tubes will not run, others will have a reduced service, banks will be closed and shops will probably have shorter hours than normal.

Otherwise you won't notice any difference
