I am booked to stay there on the last week of June. I had posted a similar message to yours and received some good reviews about this hotel.

e-mail me direct during the first week of July and I'll let you know how it was

Thanks. I reconsidered and decided to stay at the Morgan hotel. Though, the Arran house sounds like a nice place as well.

I returned from London on July 5th and stayed at the Arran House Hotel for the 11 nights that we were in London.

We had a large room with a fireplace and a double bed + a single bed. It was very clean and the beds were the most comfortable beds I have ever had in an hotel.

The breakfast was a buffet with plenty to choose from. We very much enjoyed the nice garden in the shade on the back of the hotel.

Overall, we were very pleased with this B&B and if we ever have the chance of going to London again we will return to this hotel.

The only negative part I could find is that they do not refrigerate their eggs (same in stores) and they let the ham & bacon thaw all night on the kitchen counter. I assume that the food regulations in England must be different from here and that they don't know the danger of food poisonning that can occur when leaving eggs and meat at room temperature.

I've stayed there--it was pretty nice. The staff isn't particularly attentive or helpful, but if you are fairly independent, you don't really need them to be. The rooms were decent enough and very clean. It was very quiet and relaxing. The beds are really soft, and they even have decent cable tv. They are right across the street from the largest Dillon's in London, which was a great treat. The location is what sold us, and I would stay there again. It was definitely worth the price we paid.

Barry,
We stayed there in June. Another plus is that they can accommodate a family of 5! My wife and I and our kids (9, 11, 14) loved it. The shower in the room was a little like the transporter in a Star Trek episode. (small) But hey it was a shower!

Jim

I personnally found the staff very helpful. I asked for restaurant recommendations and they gave me the name of an Italian restaurant near by which was very nice. I also asked for numerous other things and they were always pleased to answer my questions

The staff is quite young (early 20s) and they live on location but the office is only open from 7 am - 11pm (UK time) So you must call during those hours to reach them.
