Armistice Day in Paris
 

Will be in Paris over Armistice Day. Any knowledge of celebrations planned or expected? Thanks.

This might sound foolish, but W.W. I or W.W. II? They don't always celebrate the same in Europe as we do here from my experience.

Armistice Day commemmorates 11/11/18 but in Paris I've read that the remembrance ceremony at the Arc de Triomphe is for the dead of both World Wars <BR> <BR>

I'll be in Paris that weekend, too--and I am wondering if I should expect any Remembrance Day/Armistice Day/Veterans Day closings (museums, shops, etc.) on the 11th.

We were in Paris on Armistice Day 2 years ago. Yes, there are parades along the Champes Eleyses (sp?) Very colorful!!Thay had a full Military Band in parade uniform on horseback. My recollection was that most of the formal ceremonies were over by noon.The boulevard was decorated with French tricolors I checked our journal and we also visited some museums etc. that same day. I'm glad we were there. Don't miss it!! ..... Paul J
