First of all, get yourself a new husband! Only kidding.
What prices are you talking about? There are many for less than that, aren't there? Or is that a total for a bunch of you?
Meanwhile, I can't speak from experience but look at www.travelpro.net which even has deals on one way Eurostar now.

By the way, it could be cheaper if you claimed that you reside in the UK and get a quote in pounds.
(Delete your cookies and your Internet Temp files from your browser if you need to get the Eurostar web page to reset.)
That was my experience in July and a couple of people here confirmed it.

Well if he blew the travel budget with this screw up there is only 1 solution - purchase only ONE Eurostar ticket and let him think about it! LOL Ok, that's mean, how about the suggestions of flying instead?

Hi gina,
If you go to www.eurostar.com and purchase a RT, ticket are as low as 50 GBP each way.
I put in outward journey on 9/22 returning 9/28.
You don't have to use the return ticket.

I just tried the site Patrick mentioned above. The site said the 1-way tickets were so cheap "they couldn't advertize them". An email came back with a price of "as low as" $89. Doesn't seem that cheap, and I assume there would be fees & shipping added to that.

My dates of travel are as follows:
Depart afternoon Sept 21
Return evening Sept 25
When I tried to book on Eurostar, it quoted me $249 for the outbound and $199 for the return - GBP.
Sandi, where are you getting that fare from?

Does this sound good?
We will actually be in the Cotswolds just prior to Paris.
We can take a train from Cheltenham Spa station to Birmingham Airport - 25 GBP each.
Then, we can fly British Air from Birmingham to Paris, from Paris back to London, for 145 GBP. Total 320 GBP instead of 449 GBP for the Eurostar.
AND we don't have to pay to take the train from Cheltenham back to London to catch the Eurostar, savings of another 70 GBP each or so - plus we save 2 hours.
That sounds good, right?
Panic is sloooowlly subsiding...
Thanks, all.

I looked on raileurope.com (which normally has higher prices) and it showed several leasure fares that were very cheap (as low as 45 bucks USD) SO I am sure you can figure out a way to get a better rate. It looks like some of these fares are available at certain times.

ginabee-... I went to www.raileurope.com and put in a date one week from today for London to Paris and then looked at the 2nd class full fare.
