Arezzo on Sunday

Will shops be open on a Sunday at the end of March? Anyone know?

Holly_uncasdewar Dec 22nd, 2003 09:58 AM

Anyone at all?

On the FIRST Sunday of every month, there is an Antiques Fair on the main piazza in Arezzo.

The rules of the City of Arezzo say that shops selling the following kinds of objects -- works of art, antiques, prints, postcards, gifts, and local handicrafts -- MAY, if they wish, open on Sunday. Whether such shops will think it worth their while to do so at the end of March is a question I cannot answer, having visited Arezzo on a weekday in September.

Good luck!

Eloise

Thanks for your response, Eloise. I guess I'll just have to check it out for myself.

Highly unlikely that anything will be open.

Okay. How about on a Saturday evening? Do shops stay open til 7 or 8 or 9? Also, any hotel recommendations in the centro hisorico? Any comments on the Cavaliere Palace?

We were there on a Sunday when the antiques fair was there and everything was open. Not sure if it's just because of the fair or not. Nice town.
