Area between Blois and Le Mans

Is anyone familiar with this area? We're going to a wedding in a little town called Evaille, and will have a day to explore the region (by car). Suggestions welcome!

Vendome is an interesting enough town. And the drive up there is fairly pretty. Or at least it was several years ago.

Your village is much closer to Blois than Le Mans. You can visit the beautiful Chateau of Blois, Chambord in a walled deer park, Chenenceaux and so much more.

Evaille seems so tiny on my map that it must just have a cafe and a church - the two essentials of any French hamlet - and a cemetery. Vendome is OK and Chateaudun is also not far away - this is a neat town with an old castle, not a chateau but a real old castle and neat grounds overlooking a river valley below. A sweet regional town as well with restaurants, etc. And yes you're within an easy drive of several of the Loire's great chateaux and interesting cities like Amboise and Tours and Chinon.

Thanks, that's good to know. Just want to have some ideas in my back pocket!
