Are you stuck in Scotland?

Well I haven't heard about Sheila's cooking but she obviously has a heart of gold. What a lovely and loving thread, Sheila.

Imagine some poor souls stuck in an airport where they were changing flights on a stopover on Thursday morning, neither in their home country nor where they were visiting. Completely unprepared. Probably many are in this situation. This is unprecedented, so nobody would be prepared. I hope anyone stuck can see the funny side to it, although in many cases it won't be funny. Even to be stuck in Scotland probably wouldn't be much fun if you were marooned in Prestwick Airport not knowing when you could hope to get away.

Back in the 80's when my wife and I flew standbye as Pan Am employees we often returned from weekend trips with no more than pocket change. The travel perks were great but we certainly didn't earn much money. We couldn't even get credit cards. Can you imagine a non-rev airline employee sitting there in Heathrow with no money and no chance of getting a stand-bye seat for days upon days? I suppose there'd be no hurry to rush home since they would no doubt lose their jobs after getting caught in this mess.
