Hi, Scarlett. Yes, it's a joke, isn't it? All those onerous duties. I believe that Australia is going to be honoured by a visit soon, which will cost us a mere $1M. A lot cheaper than Dubya's royal tour, so I guess we should feel grateful.

I can't fathom why Charles and Camilla don't get hitched under one of Christo's "gates" in New York's Cental Park. The "gate" could symbolize crossing the threshold of marriage. Plus, the saffron-coloured cloth of the "gate" would highlight Camilla's sallow complexion. Afterwards, the happy couple could have their wedding photos taken in front of Bethesda Fountain, whilst a three-piece band played "Delta Dawn" in the background.

"....could it be a faded rose from days gone by?"

Mrs. Q would then have an "out" not to attend the wedding. She could say she is on the NO-FLY LIST.

As is so often the case here, we have all drifted off track and failed to answer the OP's specific questions in his message title ;-) So...
1. No
2. It can and will.

kismetchimera, it is my pleasure to report that HM the Queen has recognised that a lavish reception would be inappropriate and so has decreed that finger food will be served - a far cry from Charles' wish for a gourmet effort involving organic produce.

Hell, I'm starting to feel sorry for the poor bloke. No wonder he's reported to have exclaimed that his wedding has "descended into a bloody farce".

Would it be legal for them to marry in Las Vegas by an Elvis Impersonator? It might lighten up the event a little.

Did anybody ready Jan Morris' piece in The Wall Street Journal today on Kindness? Usually the Journal's back pages drive me to drink.. but this column hit the nail on the head. All we intelligent , priviledged people (as we are relative to most of the world) should start thinking about being kind. Ignoring all this crap about Charles and Camilla would be a start.

Grandma, I'm with you! Honestly, I think this thread is even uglier than the one about the Pope. I've seen pictures of a lot of you and frankly, I think you've got a lot of nerve!

And then again, I guess I do not get it. Oh well, sometimes things go right over ones head. But an explination please.

She is saying I think that we are not so great looking ourselves so don't throw stones at glass houses if we live in them. Right, Grasshopper?

LoveItaly, I believe Grasshopper means that people who themselves are not very attractive - <<I've seen pictures of a lot of you>> - shouldn't be poking fun at the appearance of others.
