Interesting
If Scotland could accept schenegan.
Not sure about the west but its not the best news for south asians like me.
Because the common rule is that to roam freely in western Europe, one needs a schenegan visa and for UK, one needs a UK visa.
Scotland getting in schenegan might mess up things as asians can't then take any flight getting in to Heathrow and have to enter europe via other gateways like Amsterdam, Frankfurt etc.

--border controls on the M74 after Carlisle--
I'd walk a mile or so and nip through a field. It will need a high, un-scalable fence across the entire length of the border, a modern Hadrian's wall. And guess which country's tax payers will have to foot the bill for that?

If Scotland leaves, the UK's economy will be destroyed. The pound will be worth less than the dollar and Brits will have to emigrate to Scotland and work on the oil and gas rigs to make a living.
Does that sound about right?

Is this piece from the FINANCIAL TIMES "fear mongering"? I don't know. I live on the other side of the pond and we have enough problems here.

Here is a country that had one of the biggest banks in the world and it had to be rescued from near bankruptcy, it attempted to build a tram system in Edinburgh that went many millions of pounds over budget, and the biggest soccer team went into bankruptcy and had to be relegated to three divisions below. These are the people that expect to be a viable country based on sound financial principles. I don't think so.

I for one do not want them to leave UK.
(though I have no right for the same and neither an in depth of the reasons for the split)
The uk will loose it's importance to a greater extent and that day may not be far when Pound will have no great impact and USD and EUR will the only major currencies.

Hysterical? People are willing to risk death to get to the UK, vis the shipping container in Tilbury. If they want to get to the Shangri-la of Scotland and stay there, fine. Maybe they'll buy the SNP fantasy of streets paved in gold (oil).

The 1707 Act of Union was a result of Scotland becoming bankrupt. In any case they just end up ruled by the French

After a yes vote all visitors to Scotland will have to speak either Urdu or Gaelic as rUK is keeping the English language to itself.
This is as true as most of the rest of the uninformed garbage on this thread.

1. RBS failure resulted from lax controls implemented by Gordon Brown and co - Better Together supporters.
2. Edinburgh trams. SNP minority government at the time wanted to cancel the project due to cost. Overuled by Labour/ Conservative / Liberal parties - Better Together supporters.
3. Biggest football team went into bankruptcy. How exactly is that relevant to anything?
Roll on voting day.

If Scotland votes YES, will:
The Queen be allowed into Balmoral?
The Duke of Edinburgh be forced to be restyled as The Duke of St. John's Wood?
Kate and William return their diplomas to St. Andrew's University?
