LOL Scarlett, if you are a drag queen you are the best I have ever seen. Too funny, but that poster wasn't for sure.

And BTilke, that is a very funny story about your mother. Well I am sure it was not funny for her. Did she wear the dress or run out and buy another one?

For about a year my photo was on the website for the Tall Ship Rose; the boat used as the HMS Surprise in the Russell Crowe movie "Master and Commander."

The biggest difference between Russell and I, is that he was wearing period garb, I was wearing a Roman Toga. (You had to be there.)

I am perfectly content to remain famously infamous.

Marcy, Yes, it was called KINDERGARTEN KOLLEGE and Susan Little was the hostess from 1966 thru 1969. She is the mother of Mr_Go. She now prefers to navigate with me.

Scarlett,
As a child, I was called up onto the stage with Leonard Bernstein and Captain Kangaroo at a children's symphony concert, and asked to accompany the next symphony piece on the triangle (percussion).

I was almost frozen with stagefright!

I am pals with a film director who is famous/infamous, and have gone around in public with him a couple of times with a few other friends. It's inbelievable how invasive people can be, and I would never want to be famous myself. With my director friend, the rest of us were often "ducking under the table" to avoid all the people pushing to get closer.
Have seen and met some famous people here and there because of time spent in the film business, one memory that stands out is an hour spent alone in a farmhouse in Iowa with Richard Gere. We had a nice lunch, (he made Banana Bread!) and he told some funny stories. I was working on the film, and the farm was his "secret" hideaway for the duration. Strange, I never thought much of him, but sitting and eating sandwiches with him kind of left me "Breathless"! (OK, bad joke...) My best famous sighting ever though, was Nelson Mandela-he is really the sun and moon, what an aura!

When Matt Lauer was doing "Where in the World?" two years ago in Angkor Wat they chose my question and Katie Couric asked it on the air. She pronounced my name correctly. Does that count?

This turned out to be more fun than I originally had hoped. Anyway, Maxwell, I do know people who know people, so it's possible you may know me if you're famous. You know those degrees of separation..... I just thought it was neat that in the anonymity of the internet, someone asking for advice on say, France, could be getting a response (incognito) from Gerard Depardieu or Audrey Tautou. Someone asking for advice on Holland Park - London may be getting infomation from Jennifer Saunders. Armisted Maupin may be giving out secrets to San Francisco. You never know.

Last night at a Christmas party I was chatting up Doug and Hilde from Trading Spaces before I realized who they were. I actually sent Doug to get me a drink. They were very charming.

Italiano,
Just curious, when you cook for a head of state, does someone test the food beforehand?
