Are we smart if we get the SMART FORFOUR?????
I need to rent a car for puttering around in Toulouse, France. Sixt.com is offering the best price by far, but it's on the new Smart Forfour...yes for four people. We are 2 adults (not large) and 2 small children. We are also packing light.
I know well the original Smart, but don't know this new bigger one.
ANY ADVICE???

The ForFour is a very fun car that is perfect for the city. It's big enough for 2 adults and 2 children. Trunkspace, however, is very limited when the back seats are in their normal position to transport 4 people. Let's say, it's big enough for your daily errands!
The back seats can be moved forward by 10-15 cm to increase trunk space which might work when there are 2 very small children on the back seats.

I have not seen the for-four Smart Car yet, but, my observations when traveling with children is that most folks' concept of "packing light" with kids actually means "not girded up for D-Day". I think kids stuff is a lot bulkier than adults!
I giggled when I saw a friend with his wife and two kids in two want to go on a day trip/flight in a little Cessna Skyhawk. Good luck getting that stroller in the back of the plane! And I bet the interior room on one of them is about the same as a Smart car.
Get a regular four door sedan, even without seeing the car I bet you will be much happier. Saving a few bucks at the expense of vacation happiness isn't a good thing.
