Are we selling Tuscany Short?
We're planning a honeymoon trip to Tuscany and currently have planned:
- 3 nights florence (including 1/2 trip to pisa) - 3 nights in Tuscany (including 1 day trip to Siena Gimginamo and 1/2 Chianti Wine Tasting) - drive - 2 days in Venice via train Are we selling Tuscany Short? Thanks for any advice you can provide! - Alex |
I think you are cutting almost every city a little short. I'd recommend dropping one of the three places you've suggested.

Hi Alex,
I suggest: that you skip Pisa, taking a day from Florence and adding it to Venice. Enjoy your honeymoon. ((I)) |
Hi Alex,
My recommendation is exactly the same as Ira's! Congrats & buon viaggio! |
Heya...
I would agree with dropping Pisa... Where were you thinking of staying for your three nights in Tuscany? You can easily day trip to Siena, and San Gimingnano from Florence - either via car, or bus. If you want to stay overnight outside of Florence I would suggest Siena...smaller then Florence...and really pretty. Depending on what time of year you are in Italy, and if you like that sort of thing, I would recommend a day of horseback riding, wine tasting, and dinner through the Tuscan countryside. We did it this past October and it was amazing! Beautiful scenery, stopped at San Gimingnano and had dinner in Monteregiono (sp?). If that is your type of thing, let me know and I can provide you with more details...it was very romantic too btw. Other than that, I would definitely suggest five nights in Florence, with daytrips to Siena and San Gimmy/Volterra and 3 nights in Venice. -camelbak |
I would recommend Florence (3 days) and the remainder in Tuscany . Leave Venice for an anniversary trip. You'll want to go back to Italy soon after. ((b))
