Are three days in Warsaw in winter too much?

Just thinking about perhaps going to Warsaw from Spain for the weekend.. not sure if 3 or 4 nights is too much. ( 3 full days). Is there a highly recommended day trip we shouldn't miss?

That's not a place I would go in winter because it's so cold. I much preferred Krakow or Wroclaw to Warsaw as they are compact and much prettier.

You could fill 3 days in Warsaw. My favorite sight was the Uprising Museum.

I've been to krakow and winter is when we can take off now for a couple days.. not looking for sun and heat as we have good weather where we live. I have to admit i have always enjoyed my winter getaways.. but admit I would choose other dates if i were taking a long, ( and expensive9 international flight.

Thanks about that it IS possible to fill up three days.

Lin - we went to Prague and Budapest in the winter and had terrific long weekends in both. So long as you have sufficiently warm outer clothing and footwear, you should be fine. [Public buildings are very well heated so it's a good idea to wear lighter things underneath a good top layer which you leave in the garderobe.]

Another good thing is that cold snowy places are well adapted to cold snowy weather, so unless conditions are extreme, transport etc doesn't stop because of a little ice and snow.

I've never been to Warsaw but i'd be surprised if you couldn't find enough to fill 3 days in virtually any capital city.

To add to Adrienne's suggestion,

Built on site of Warsaw Ghetto - we saw it when it was barely open but it looked like it would be outstanding.

And Lazienky Park - must be stunning in winter.

(And I agree with Annhig's comment that the North does know how to handle winter!)

Thanks for all the advice.. now friends have preferred to opt out since no reasonable flights from their area.. so we will all go to Florence with them instead, saving Warsaw for any other time.
