Are these reasonable airfares?
NYC to Paris, MLK weekend, around $480?
NYC to London, Presidents' Day weekend, around $380? Any ideas for getting these lower -- is that possible? Thanks! |
From NYC you may find good deals at www.go-today.com for packages if you're interested in flight/car, flight/hotel or flight/car/hotel deals. They often have good prices from NYC!
Otherwise, it's really impossible to predict whether those flights for those particular weekends will be included in upcoming sales. |
Don't know this site -- thanks, will take a look!

Seems like you could do better than $480 for JFK-CDG in mid-January, even with those obscene international travel taxes factored in.

YOu can knock off about $100 from both those fares through the winter airfare sale on
http://www.1800flyeurope.com If those don't include the about $100 taxes, then you'll save more like $200. I got a quote of $373 incl. taxes on the NY-CDG RT (dates 1/16-1/20) and $278 total on NY-LON for 2/12-2/17. Those are nonstop flights, also, I think (I know the London is). |
Hi, just looking at the 1800 site you mentioned (thanks!) -- the difference is indeed $100 for Paris, but I'd have to leave early evening, which I can't do (can't get out of work early). I should fiddle around some more.
I haven't yet looked into the London possibilities. (One thing at a time. :-)) |
Try calling 1800 fly europe - I saw them recommended today in Frommer's newsletter and I think they may be the same as Destination Europe, both are in Maine. Or else just call DE directly, they have been helpful to me in the past and have good prices.

I called them and their fares are lower than American's. It's quite amazing. So it looks like Paris for about 390 for these dates is doable.
Thanks for the suggestions! (Of course I wouldn't mind getting the fares even lower.) Should buy you guys a Christmas present or something. :-) |
