Are there many ATM"s in Rome and Florece?
I know here in the US, there are ATM's on practically every corner. A friend had told me the easiest way to convert the dollar to the Euro would be to just use your ATM card. I plan on bringing some cash on my trip but would like to be able to access any additional money through the ATM. Does anyone if ATM's are easliy accessible in Rome and Florence?

Yes

We had no problems in Rome. Florence is probably the same, but I never got cash there.
|
They're everywhere. We always bring just enough to get us to our hotel (taxi, etc.) and then hit the ATMs periodically.
|
If you don't see one and have to ask, just say "bancomat."
|
Be aware that most are temporarily out of service for U.S. accounts from around 11 a.m. til 2 p.m. (At least they were in Venice and Florence.) Don't panic, just plan accordingly.

I have never had trouble getting cash from an ATM anywhere I've been in Europe (much to my husband's dismay).
|
In both places you will find absolutely no problem. They are on every corner in Rome and very accessible in Florence. Never once had a single problem getting cash in either place.<BR>Enjoy!

Thank you to everyone who responded to this question. I'm leaving tomorrow for Italy and I'm getting nervous and excited!
