Are there enough Fodorites in the Pacific Northwest for a meet & greet?
I've been seeing all of these postings for Fodorites Get-Togethers and was wondering if there was enough interest to have our own somewhere up here in the Pacific Northwest. I live in Seattle, but know of a few other posters that I correspond with personally who live in Portland. So - any interest?

OK, unless someone else wants to volunteer (do I see any hands? :~), I'm willing to be -- or at least try to be -- the point man on this.

So, anyone who's interested, please email me:

. The best day (I presume we'd be meeting in the evening) of the week for you, with one or two runner-ups. In addition, the best time(s).

. Choice of venue. This could be as specific as a particular place, or more general (e.g. type of food, type of venue, etc.) Two places that come to mind off the top of my head are Buca di Beppo near Lake Union in Seattle (because it's fun, and the concept is to share food though, of course, that's not required), and the B&O Espresso on Capitol Hill in Seattle (because it has great coffee, delicious pastries, and a wonderful European/French atmosphere), but any and all other suggestions are welcome.

. Anything else you can think of.

If, say, six or more people are really interested, I'll start the ball rolling.

Thanks!

I live in San Francisco, but I'm often up in Bellevue/Seattle visiting my little 81-year-old Lithuanian mama, who is also my preferred traveling partner. In fact, I'm in Bellevue as I type this. If my schedule fits in with the locals', the mama and I would be happy to attend.

Thanks for topping this; I meant to, but had trouble finding it with the search function.

I've heard from four parties: Catherine in Seattle, Annette in Chelalis, and Carla and Jeanne & Scott in Portland. I'll wait to hear from a few more and see then we can see if we have more Portlanders or Seattleites. (So far, including me, it's two in Seattle, two in Portland, and one in-between.) If there are more people in Portland who are interested, it would make sense to have a get-together down there and, if that's the case, it would be nice for someone in Portland to volunteer to make arrangements.

Thanks!

Hi! I would be interested--my husband & I live 21 miles NE of Seattle, and if the timing doesn't conflict with the Mariners, it would be great. Or have you had this already?

Someone mentioned Buco De Bepo's (sp?) but you must have everyone in your party present before they will seat you--how about meeting in the afternoon? Anyway, let us know!

Merci beaucoup for the tip, Sally! I didn't know you could bookmark a specific thread that way.

Hi Jean. No, we haven't had it yet. I haven't heard from any more people other than the ones I noted in my 8/24 post. Now that I have this thread bookmarked and can find it easily, I think I'll go ahead and email others who expressed an interest in this thead but did not email me and we'll go from there. I'll keep you, and others, updated.
