Are their gondoliers in winter?

I do not know if this is a silly question but it will be my first time to venice in Jan. 4-9 and I was wondering will there be gondoliers since the weather will be cold? How about when it rains? Please forgive my ignorance

Irene,

There will be no Gondoliers as you think of them during that period.

All of the water will be frozen. The Gondoliers will have "boats" with ice skis on them. It can get very scary with all of the crashes. Most Gonoldiers will not be able to sing very well due to sore throats.

Bundle up!!!

Mr. Paddle
