Are AMS trains running Christmas Day
We're arriving at 6 am to Amsterdam airport. I would like to take a train to Brugge (via Antwerp?)At the Neth. train site www.ns/nl I can't get Brugge to come up. 1) Is there another word or spelling I should be using ? amd 2) are the trains running on December 25?

Looks like you should buy the Amsterdam-Antwerp on the Dutch rail site, and book the Antwerp-Brugge segment on the Belgian rail site.
You'll know if there are trains on Christmas Day by looking at the timetables. |
The Netherlands Railways' web site has separate pages for international journeys which can be accessed in Dutch. It's probably easier to use www.b-rail.be or www.bahn.de.
Dutch and Belgian trains run on 25 December, much as on a Sunday. If you use the Intercity trains via Antwerpen, there is no need to buy tickets in advance. |
you can catch a train at 08.12 ( on 25th from Schiphol either to Amtwerpen, change to Gent change to Brugge, or stay on the train to Brussel and change to Gent. The latter takes longer, so if you are up to the changes go for the Antwerpen/Gent? Brugge option.
These are intercity trains. See http://tinyurl.com/ywdxya for full details. It is in Dutch but easy to understand. It will cost you €38.60 per person. The ticket machines do not take credit cards, but do accpet ATM cards with a 4 digit pin. |
I meant to say train to Brussel and change to Brugge. Although easier as far as changing trains goes it does take a lot longer.

Sorry the link doesn't work any more. I hope you have enough info - if not let me know.
