Arcos or Ronda if at all

I'm visiting southern Spain and Portugal for two weeks and am going to be travelling from Granada to Seville. I'm wondering if it's worth while to stop in either Arcos or Ronda and if so which one. Is it satisfying enough to take a scenic bus or train through on the way to Seville? If I spend a night in the White Hill Towns, I lose a night in Portugal.

Thanks for your advice.

I loved Ronda, but haven't been to Arcos or Portugal, so it's hard for me to say it it's worth losing a night in Portugal.

It's absolutely worthwhile to stop in Arcos or Ronda (I loved Arcos!). It would be such a shame if you didn't visit some of the White Hill Towns. I'm afraid you won't get a good picture of this beautiful part of Spain when you just drive through by bus or train.

Hola,
My wife and I were in Rhonda and Arcos three years ago. We found them both very interesting and worthwhile. In fact, while sitting in a square in Arcos dozens of women in flaminco dresses literally poured into the square from many side streets. We happened to get there in time for a fiesta.

The setting of both towns is very impressive. We (were on bicycles) were particularly impressed with the scenery between Arcos, Rhonda and Antequera. Beautiful pastoral land with mountains in the background. We followed route 372 from Arcos to Rhonda and and 366/343 to Antequera. I have read that the route from Arcos to Antequera via routes 473/367/357/343 is also very beautiful.

Enjoy

Jeff

Agreeing with Myriam. Ive been to both Arcos and Ronda and the white villages are one of the most beautiful parts of Spain. Certainly well worth a stay,,i would prefer Arcos personally.

I haven't been to Arcos, but we really loved our 3 days in Ronda. Beautiful strolls, relaxing, a couple of nice hikes in the area, good food...
