AQUIS GRANA CITY HOTEL - Aachen - Looking for input

Has anyone stayed here before? It looks to have a great location right in the center of town, and the price is good €75. If you're familiar with this hotel, I'd love to hear your thoughts. TIA

We stayed at this hotel some years back and found it excellent: large bedroom with lovely duvets on the beds, modern bathrooms, and an excellent location. It also had good a/c, which we needed in the summer--I could only stay outside about half an hour before going back to the hotel to take a shower because of the heat and humidity.

Thanks! The reviews have been mixed, but the location is so good and it's only one night, I'm not planning on buying the place! :-)

When you're in Aachen, be sure to check out the gingerbread in the bakeries--it's a specialty of the town and comes in all sizes and shapes, often beautifully decorated. There's a good bakery just down to the right as you leave the hotel.

Thanks! I'll check it out. I'm actually surprising my daughter (her husband knows)at the fantastic toy store there. I was there for only a couple of hours last year and didn't get to check out any of the things I normally would.

I waz wundring why you're going to Aachen - one of the least appealing German towns i've been to. Now i understand.

Actually, my daughter lives in the Netherlands about half an hour or so from there, and I know my sil will be able to get her to go to the toy store. I didn't find it to be that awful a town, and I don't always like to check out the typical tourist spots.

I booked it. The rate was just €75 including all fees and taxes and the location is just too perfect to pass up.

I did stay here and was very pleased. It has a fabulous location, the room was good, and I even had a view of one of the many fountains. The breakfast buffet was excellent and the staff very helpful. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat.

Agreed; I think it's a find in what I found a very nice town.
