Au revoir, Joan. Sorry about the full plane...it always seems to be full out of Atlanta.

I am in Paris! I had a pretty good seat. I had the aisle seat for a 3 seat after a 2 seat which meant that I could stretch my legs out! The bad thing.. in the row ahead and section next to me a small child had tantrums and screamed all night!!

A bit cool. Driver was there to pick me up..always glad to see him! I got settled in, walked dow to see Florent and stayed for lunch. Florent and Michael will drop by in a little while, I will then call it a night!!

a bientot..

Joan...

I'm so glad I found this thread. I'm really looking forward to following you through Paris.

AND...I'm even happier to say that it looks like we (me and my faithful traveling mom) will be in Paris in December the same time you will be there later this year! I so hope we will be able to coordinate a get together.

We'll be in Paris from Dec.8 - 17, in one of the Paris Perfect apartments! We're starting the trip with 6 nights in Strasbourg and ending the trip with 9 nights in Paris...just in time for all the Christmas markets!

Hi,

Great to hear. Yes, you will certainly catch the markets. Strasbourg is a biggie!

That will be fun. Will look forward to it.

Welcome back to Paris, Joan! Too bad about the grouchy child on the plane but by tomorrow you will forget all about her. The weather is a bit chilly there but will warm up very soon.

Happy to hear your first meal was at Florent's.

Ready. Set. Go!

A beautiful day..sunny and warm. I slept like a log!! Went out to petite dejeuner Cafe Constant...charged my Navigo at the tabac. I was about to go out to lunch when Florent called and said "let's have cafe"..so why not..he came by and we went over to rue Cler..had a nice visit..he had some shopping to do and I went to Les Cocottes for lunch. I then picked up some flowers at my usual spot on rue Cler..came home and took the below photo from one of my windows:

a great day....

mmm - spring in Paris.

i was accosted by a french couple in my town yesterday - they were looking for our museum. turned out they came from Paris, lucky things. just talking to them brought back memories of our last trip in January. sigh.

like the photo, gracejoan. it looks as if the eiffel tower is close enough to touch!

I will go down to Cafe Constant in a little while. Must get there when they open if you want a table! Forces you to eat early, but that is just the way it is!

I will be sure that I have my camera with me. I will spoil everyone's dinner with the pictures!!

The ET is great when the lights come on..centered right in that window for a great view and with a balcony that runs down both sides and around the corner.

a bientot..

Your Eiffel Tower photo really brightened up this rainy Vancouver morning! Thanks for that. I can just imagine what it is like to have that view at night. And thanks for starting your posts immediately upon arrival. Reading about your adventures in Paris is such a great start to the day. Mille merci.

Joan----can you help me out? I've been looking for a post about a place to stay in SW France that someone recommended (I thought I remembered that it was you). It had a restaurant with it and you(or whomever posted it) seemed to have stayed there often so knew the owners quite well. It was either in a cave or around some caves----Luberon, Valcluse?

I know this is very vague, but maybe if indeed it was you who posted it, you'll remember.

Have a wonderful trip. I'd love to be in Paris with you, but I guess I'll just have to travel through your posts.

I was the one... La Riboto de Taven
http://www.riboto-de-taven.fr/famille-anglais.htm

Jean-Pierre, Christine and Philippe. I was tinking of them just today. It is a lovely place, excellent food and a different world..clean, clean air, very laid back! If you contact them, please say that you know me. We have become nice friends. They have been trying to join me in Paris for several years but Christine and Jean-Pierres's parent has quite elderly and need care. You would love the place..beautiful...you will see many phots from a previous running report of mine.

Enjoy....

We're headed off to Ireland shortly, but since this trip is all planned I'm already thinking about Sept. in Paris and elswhere in France.
