April in Paris-With a Touch of Provence!!
My Spring trip to Paris will be from April 15 to May 13.
I was recently reminded of how much I enjoy Provence, and my very special place in Les Baux. So, I looked at trains and cars and the contacted my very special place:
www.riboto-de-taven.fr to see if they had a place for me for a few days.
I received a most friendly oui, along with my being able to have the same room that I had last stayed in, or another! I will leave that up to them. Both are lovely.
I now have my reservations all made. I am leaving on Monday, April 20th and returning on Thursday, April 23rd. I did have a bit of fun (if that is what you call it) on the sncf site. I do have TGV 1st class tickets and seats, R/T for 120 euros. Seems good. I paid online and have a confirmation receipt. I will go to the sncf boutique on St. Dominique and pick up the tickets in advance. It is just around the corner, and down the street from my apartment. I have my car rental for pickup at TGV location, too.
If anyone is planning to be in the St. Remy-Les Baux area at tht time, and would like to join me for dinner at La Riboto, please let me know. I think their policy has been that lodging guest dining reservations first and outsiders, if space available. Riboto is one of the many, many one star places that gave up their star for all the many reasons! Or, maybe Wednesday for lunch or dinner some place in the area. Many great places to choose from.
a bientot...

What a lovely daydream - dinner or lunch at La Riboto with Joan. Of course I can't be there, but the thought in my head will get me through this otherwise dreary afternoon. From reading her posts, I am sure anyone who can join her will have a marvelous time.

Weekender,
It is a place and an area that I am sure you would enjoy! The Alpilles are magical, to me!
There is everything that one could want in the area..great food, great lodging, fun places, and a beautiful Lusitano horse farm, where I always spend some time!

and the ancient olive trees distorted by the Mistral.
The scent of the wild herbs that grow on the garrigue.
The cigales singing under the hot summer sun.
Little lizards darting in and out of stone walls.
petite striped snails clinging to the roadside weeds
Provence is-An earthly Paradise.
