I wish I had had more time to look for it. I know I was very near, and I was on rue St. Paul; I must have barely missed it. Next trip I'll have more time to search.
ParisJo, you'll have a wonderful time with your grandson. I hope you post about your experience. |
Ellen, I sure will! I keep a blog of all our Paris trips and I go back to it whenever I need a Paris fix, lol.
www.slowtrav.com/blog/joden We are off to Greece in September and will stop in Paris for a week on our way back, I'll be writing about that trip too. Thanks again for the wonderful report. Jo |
The park near Place Dauphine is just one of the most pleasant in the city -- the Seine is on both sides of the park, and you're removed from much of the car/truck noise because the park is well below the street level. Incidentally, if it wasn't clear, the park at Pl Dauphine is not the park behind Notre-Dame -- Pl. Dauphine is at the other end of the island, by the Pont Neuf and the old Samaritaine store (may it rest in peace).

Thanks for the link to your blog, Jo; I'll enjoy reading it. September in Greece will be wonderful.
Don, you're right. Place Dauphine is quiet not only because it's below street level, but except for the odd taxi, cars aren't allowed in the park. Do they have plans for the Samaritaine? |
