April in Munich
My gentleman is taking me home to Munich to meet the folks. His daughter and her finance have a small apartment so we don't want to put them out...and we want a nice enough little hotel. My guy says we WANT to stay by the train terminal... he says there are charming little hotels there.
After we visit with the kids, then we'll go northeast to somewhere where his sister lives ... and we'll figure that out there... But it is Munich I'd appreciate getting information or your preferences for. |
The Hotel Uhland-- we loved it and you'll find others who rave about it, too on this thread, if you do a search.
http://www.hotel-uhland.de/enwelcome.html It's an easy walk from the main train station, maybe ten minutes. It's right by the Oktoberfest park, in a lovely tree-lined neighborhood. It's an old mansion that's been retrofitted as a small hotel. Breakfast is included, service is helpful and friendly, rooms are spacious, newly-renovated, and very nice. Free parking, free bikes to use, a lift. A great area to walk and find nice neighborhood restaurants and bars, too. |
Depending on your budget there are seveal hotels near the trainstation that I would recommend. The Uhland is nice but about 10 miinutes walk from the train station. Others in the immediate area are Le Meridian and Drei Lowen. Let us know your budget and we will have a better time helping you.

I stayed at the Hotel Uhland in 1998 and I loved it. Not too far of a walk to the main sites in town. Enjoy.

The Amba is right across from the train station & better situated than the Uhland (which is fine) but not my first preference.

er...the budget huh. Well, when I travel alone...cheap cheaper cheapest...
but "he" tends to be as well..so lets say 100E's?? |
|
Take a look at OctopusTravel.com to see what the hotels look like. Maybe a little higher than 100E but my choice would the the Drei Lowen.
