Appropriate Head Wear

I agree that wearing baseball caps is gauche in Europe, but no one has ever complained about my wearing a 10-gallon hat - even to the opera. I wish more Americans would join me in wearing this proud western classic.

Tex, you are so out of it, only a stove pipe hat will do. Come on now, don't you know fashion?

New Yorker Jan 17th, 2003 03:52 PM

Tex,
please stay in TX!!!!!!!!

Nothing bothers me more than seeing the big hat,and then the big belt buckle and then the big voice.
I personally am embarressed and pretend I am uh...Scottish. I lived there for a awhile/. To the opera!?!?!

New Yorker you are so naive for a New Yorker, why did you bite the bait?

A ten gallon hat would be ideal for stealing from the breakfast buffet. Much larger than the silk scarf proposed on another thread.

Shall we start a guessing game?

How many stale bagette pieces can you fit in a ten gallon hat?

I don't know about a ten gallon hat - but I can usually fit two rolls with some cheese and a hard-boiled egg under my baseball cap at any European breakfast buffet.
