Dear xxx - Looking to start a serious discussion here to a real dilemma. Wiseacres like you are not appreciated.

You can feel free to dress more relaxed at a two or three star hotel in Paris, as casual as you are comfortable wearing touring the city.

A nice parka from Ecuador will do just fine. And your usual pareau.

A serious discussion? Your question is so dull I doubt it is serious.Real dilemma? The things that worry some people astonish me!

If you're really worried about what people will think about you in two and three star hotels, I'd be more worried about being over-dressed than under-dressed. Shorts, logo tee-shirts, sneakers and all other styles of ugly-American fashion will be well represented.

That said, consider yourself lucky to not be paying $600 a night for a five star hotel room that you should be spending as little time as possible residing in anyway. I've never understood why people want to piss money away of fancy hotels while taveling. I'd always rather actually experience real culture.
