Applying for UK Visa from India - after job resignation

I am applying for a UK visa now as part of a nearly 2 months Europe visit during April-May. Right now, I have resigned from my existing job and is serving the notice period till March end (basically working with the present employer till then).

Should I describe this in my application? I have strong financial statements regarding my salary inflows, tax payments of the past many years and also past 6 months salary slip. I have the non-refundable return ticket as well as non-refundable Eurostar one-way ticket to Paris. Europe itinerary is UK-Paris-Barcelona-Rome-Switzerland.

My brother lives in UK and is a British citizen and will be giving his invitation letter and his financials. Would it be better to apply as a "family visitor" or a tourist visitor?

After the UK visa processing, I will be applying for the Schengen visa.

We are not visa experts - and few of us are Indian - so we don;t know how your rules/regs work. I urge you to be honest in whatever you tell them. But if they know you don;t have a job to return to they may be very hesitant to give you a visa. You need to consult a local attorney who will be able to produce you with real information - not opinions.

(Many of us don't need visas at all - so the whole process is a mystery to us.)

As you will no longer have a job, you are very unlikely to get a general visitor visa.

With the family visitor visa, your brother can provide proof of his finances/employment etc to help.

<< We are not visa experts - and few of us are Indian - so we don;t know how your rules/regs work.

It's not the rules/regs of India that the OP is asking about, it is the rules/regs of the country that is being visited ie the UK.

(Many of us don't need visas at all - so the whole process is a mystery to us.)

Surprisingly enough, even American citizens need visas to enter many countries. Much of Africa, Russia, Middle East, parts of Asia and Australia for instance. And occasionally, US citizens may require a visa for countries that other nationalities do not need, eg Brazil.

It's true that Americans need visas to enter many countries - but it's rare in europe.

And granted the regulations are those of the UK - but they are those of the UK applying to people of specific nationalities. (How does an american know the UK rules for people from india? All we know is rules that apply to us - we don't need a visa for up to 6 months).

The OP should consult an expert in his particular problem.

Two general rules of thumb we use for any official request of any kind:

Do not volunteer any information that is not specifically requested.

Never, under any circumstances, give false information.

thanks everyone for the earnest attempt in giving me some suggestions. nytraveller has helped me to escalate the potential risk on getting the visa when the visa authorities see that I have resigned.

actually, I am still on notice period with the employer (will be working for another 2 months at the same place). hence, took an 'as on date" letter from employer stating my employment tenure, current monthly salary, etc. so, i didnt talk about my resignation anywhere in the application.

today, i have gone to submit my docs for the visa and had a big confusion. i have applied for a general visitor visa. the visa processing agency is of the opinion that as my brother is a British Citizen, i should have applied as a Family visitor than General visitor.

In order to change, i have to re-do the whole process again. hence, i decided to pursue the general visitor application itself. now, i am tensed whether the visa will be rejected asking me to apply as family visitor...that would mean big loss of time and monitory shock too as UK visa not a bit expensive!
