Switzerland - Appenzell hiking - which routes?
Hello
Going to appenzell during summer withh teenagees. After searching the internet found the following routes and would be happy to know which ones are ok for non top hikers. Something similair to Rigi Kaltbad-Rigi Scheidagg or mannlichen-kleinen scheidegg, means scenic views, easy enough (no long steep), safe(i.e. dropoff) and cows/goats on the way. Wasserauen - seealpsee through paved road Ebenalp cable car - Ascher restaurant Ebenalp cable car - Schäfler Ridge Hut/Viewpoint Kronberg Ridge Trail to Appenzell Brülisau-Sämtisersee and back Views and discoveries on Kronberg: Kronberg – Jakobskapelle (chapel) – Jakobsquelle (spring) – Jakobsalp (alp) – Kronberg Alp Sigel (Cableway) – Alp Hasenplatten – Chüeboden – Streckwees – Sämtisersee – Plattenbödeli – Pfannenstil (Brülisau) Any small walk/hike in Hohe Kasten? Even to specific place and back Switzerland |
Forget Rigi Kaltbad - Scheidegg or Maennlichen - Kleine Scheidegg.
The Apppenzellerland is by far not as attractive.Hoher Kasten is the best viewpoint.. The hikse from Wasserauen resp Bruelisau to Seealpsee or Saemtisersee are not dangerous, burt not panoramic at all. Kronberg - Appenzeöll is safe too. The trails aabove Ebenalp are raher rocky and can get slippery when wet. Same remark for Hoher Kasten - Stasuberen cableway. |
