Hi,I am going to Paris with my family and I need an advise which one from those appartments are in a good districts.Thank you.

Except for the first one they are all in very good areas, I myself prefer the ones in the Marais, but friends of mine really like the Rue Montorgueil area, Good market street

I guess they are all OK, but except for the last two they do not have elevators. You are perhaps aware that the "first" French floor is our "second" floor, so some of these apartments are five floor walk-ups. My legs are too old to face that at the end of the day.

Nuke: my friend just stayed in that apartment and really enjoyed it, in it's oddity. She was there alone and felt that it would have been crowded with two people.

Before you book with ParisAttitude (and pay their ridiculous agency fees), note that many of the same properties are listed with other resources (Homelidays, VRBO, etc.). You can usually find them easily with a web search if you have the address or some other unique part of the description.

When selecting an apartment, be sure to check for a/c, elevator, bathtub (some shower only have stalls the size of upright coffins), etc., anything really important to you. Never assume that a property has a TV or English channels, for example.

All agencies have fees, and their is nothing "ridiculous" about the one ParisAttitude charges, it is very typical. VRBO and Homelidays are just individual owners renting by themself and advertising on a website, so they don't have agency fees, but it doesn't really matter, the bottom line as to what you pay is all that counts. Many private owners charge as much as agencies, although some may be cheaper.

I prefer an agency myself, I think it is more reliable and professional in many cases than individual owners, and less risky. Lots of folks rent privately from VRBO, however, that's just my own personal taste.

Well, an apartment I am considering for next year is listed on ParisAttitude for €910/week. I found the very same apartment on Homelidays directly with the owner for €700/week. To me, anyway, it would be "ridiculous" to pay an extra €210 agency fee - 30%!!!.

All most agencies do is put you in touch with the owner. After that, you're on your own. There is little they will do or can do if anything goes wrong.

Highly recommend booking only something for which you can find reviews. TripAdvisor Paris forum is a tremendous resource. There are many who will review your choices and provide invaluable feedback, as there is much to consider with a vacation apartment rental, and you don't want to overlook anything critically important.

30% is the normal ParisAttitude markup. IMO that's too high, although it's obvious they've put a lot of money into their web site.

Be aware that TripAdvisor, which I like in many ways, purchased the apartment rental agency FlipKey.

Agencies earn their fees by taking the stress and time out of DIY booking. (Full disclosure, I run one.) They also should offer some insight into the apartment, owner and neighborhood, which can help assure you're in a place that's best for you.

djkbooks is absolutely right that you need to be vigilant in reading descriptions. If something you need (internet, for example, or an elevator) isn't specifically mentioned make sure to ask. It could be an oversight, but you can't assume that every apartment is outfitted alike. And if you don' get a clear answer, move on.

You need to also go over to the France forum on www.tripadvisor.com as there has been a lot of discussion about using that agency and there is another, recent post, over there about them. Personally, I go on other rental websites like www.vacationinparis.com and www.homeaway.com where I've been more than satisfied with either the agency or owner. Happy Travels!
