citymapper is brilliant. needs a data connection though.

Ulmon Pro CityMaps2Go is a free iPhone/iPad app that has downloadable maps, so you can use them without cellular data connection/usage.

It uses the GPS with the downloaded maps.

It worked great in London and Paris...and here in the US, of course, too.

<strong>Copying the map files from your computer to your iPhone</strong>

You must have a PDF reader app installed on your iPhone...then:

1. Connect iPhone to computer...open iTunes on the computer.
2. Select your phone (shown on upper left of screen) and go to Apps.
3. Scroll down to File Sharing.
4. Click on your PDF reader.
5. Drag files from your computer to to area on the right...they are immediately copied to your phone.
6. Now, whenever you open your RDF reader app on your phone, you should be able to access all of those files.

We found these invaluable on our trips to London & Paris.

I just use Adobe's reader...I think.

The reason I am not sure is that I have an Adobe CS 5 license, so it is possible I have an upgraded version of the reader...but I'm sure the free reader works fine.
