Apartments in Italy...
I am looking at renting an apartment in Rome for my next vacation to Italy. Anyone have any experiences with any services that rent places? I have found some on the web, but would like some info on them before I make a reservation.

We used www.barclayweb.com.They have apartments all over Italy, every kind and every price. They will also help with car rental, we had nothing but good experiences with them.Good luck~

whatever company you decide to use, DO NOT use THE PARKER COMPANY, Seaport, MA. IF you need to cancel due to world events, etc. State department concerns or just general pressures of life, they will keep your money and tell you that they are a business. I rented a villa from them and due to tragic events in dc and NYC, I was asked to go to NYC and do disaster relief work with my employer, when I tried to cancel my reservation they told me that they would keep my 700.00 and there were absolutely no refunds under any circumstances. Funny thing is that when I rented the villa 6 months ago, I explained my line of work and if need be what was the cancelation policy, they told me that they would give me a year to use it or my money back. When I remined them of this they told me to bad. BUYER BEWARE!!of course my contract has a clause about canceling is up to management to make that decision. Good Luck!!

MESSAGE FOR CANDACE: <BR>Candace, I checked out the barclay website, and it looks better pricewise than a lot of others I've been researching. Can you let me know a little bit more about your experiences with them? I'm planning trip to Rome and Tuscany for June with my husband and 2 sons, although now my husband is not willing to go due to all the horrible stuff going on, but I'm optimistic that things will be better soon, and we'll be able to go without fear. Please e-mail me if you read this. Thanks.
