Apartments for rent in Bologna?

Message: My husband and I would like to celebrate our 10 year anniversary next spring by spending a week in Bologna (our 2nd Italy trip). We had hoped to stay in an apartment and day trip from Bologna, but I'm having a hard time finding weekly rentals in the city. They are so easy to find in many other touristy cities--what am I missing? Is there not as much demand since the tourist traffic is lighter? I've checked most of the sites on slowtrav and have only found a handful of options. I know there are lots of hotels near the city center but I like the idea of having a kitchen, and the hotels are so much more expensive. You all are a wealth of information and I appreciate your expertise!

Jocelyn - The Bologna Tourist Office website has links to several apartment rental agencies:

You could contact the Tourist Office direct for further rental info.

Hope this helps ...

The reason Bologna may not have as many apartments to rent out is the gigantic student population. I moved to Bologna last September and learned that it can be quite difficult to find a place. It's also not very touristy, so there isn't a big industry for renting out apartments to tourists.
