Thank you, BT, it's nice that a hotel will walk you around the neighborhood; it was special to us that the owner did it.

We take pleasure in finding the small independent businesses that have a vested interest in providing a uniquely local and individually-personalized experience, whether it's shopping, lodging, dining, or bodywork. It's not "merely being able to cook a few meals" that makes the native connection, and chains and resorts don't do it for us.

And spas aren't the only way to receive bodywork when traveling, just the most obvious (and overpriced). I've found even the best spa session could not equal the most average independent massage therapist's work and it's well worth a little effort to find an independent massage therapist.

Hello. We just came back from Rome and would highly recommend either this apartment or this agency. Very easy to deal with as well as very reasonable prices. I cannot stop raving about this place - better than the pictures with a host that speaks English.
