A very good agency is www.sleepinitaly.com. You may not have very much choice though as this is a bit last minute for booking....god luck.

We are presently in Rome, staying at the Piazza Rondanini apartment from Sleep In Italy. This is probably our 3rd or 4th time renting this unit. It works fine for 2 people or a small family. Cost is well below what you want to spend, is 1 block from Pantheon

Have you looked at : www.lodjee.com/rome. As per my experience with them I would definitely recommend specially if you can get an apartment from where Eiffel tower is visible then you would really be able to get a really amazing view. Also I would suggest you to have a room with a lobby. You'll really going to enjoy standing there at evening.

We stayed in this apartment last May.
http://italy.worldwide-accom.com/rom...trastevere-due
It is on a dead-end street at the western edge of Trastevere, so it is quieter than most Trastevere locations. It is also convenient to the Campo/Navona areas across the river. The owner lives in the building, is very pleasant and speaks some English. She had baked a quiche for our arrival. We paid $200 per night.

We rented an apartment through Friendly Rentals over Christmas 2010 and they were fabulous. http://www.friendlyrentals.com/ Our apartment was in a residential area of the city, a stone's throw from St. Peter's. On major bus lines. Rome is very doable in terms and walking and buses. We loved every minute we were there, despite the rain and cold weather. It was glorious. And Friendly Rentals really was in fact friendly and extremely helpful and responsive. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.
