Apartment on Via Magna Grecia in Rome... Good Location?

I found what looks like a great apartment in Rome. Its on Via Magna Grecia in the S. Giovanni area. I've been to Rome several times but I'm not familiar with this area and can't tell if this is a good location or not. The link to the apartment is http://rentalinrome.com/magnagrecia/magnagrecia.htm. Any advice or thoughts?

Thanks!
Tracy

I only went to that area once, but I found it to be more depressed than the areas further west. It wasn't terrible, but I saw more closed shops and more graffiti than I did in more central areas. I don't think it's terrible, and San Giovanni and several other attractions are close by, and you could use public transit to get to many attractions. The price is certainly good.

Thank you for your response. That's what I was thinking. The price is definitely great, so of course my first thought was "what's wrong with it"! I found several apartments in the Piazza Navona area that were fine, but I don't think they look quite as nice as this one and they are obviously more expensive. Still, I think I am leaning towards the ones in the Navona area that are more centrally located.

Thanks again!

tcreath - What are you looking for? We stayed in a very reasonably priced apt in June that I would recommend, but it sleeps 4 and is quite large. The landlord even picks you up and brings you back to the airport!

Here is a link to my review of it if you're interested:

wliwl, thank you for your reply and your trip report! I'm going to read it in just a minute.

We are a family of two; just me and my DH. We will be in Rome for 3 nights in March and are looking into apartments because Rome hotels can be so expensive. We are trying to keep our hotel budget under 120 euro a night, obviously very hard to do in Rome (we don't spend a lot of time in our room while on vacation, so we don't really want to spend a lot), which is why we are looking into apartments. I would prefer one that is centrally located, but I also don't have a problem taking the metro or walking if necessary if I can find the right apartment.

Thanks for the link!
