apartment on piazza rondanini
 

Is anyone familiar with this area? If so, any information would be appreciated? good location? noisy? nice? trashy? thank you

I forgot to say that it is in Rome.

Great location a block from the Pantheon. Two decent restaurants right on the Piazza, Le Volte and Angelotto. Lots of other restaurants and gelaterie nearby. Might be a bit noisy just due to its location right in the middle of things but overall I think you couldn't ask for a more centrally located place.

Thank you so much for your information. Are you familiar with the Palazzo Massimo area? If so, do you feel this is an equally good neighborhood, etc.

I don't know where that palazzo is offhand and can only fin a Piazza Massimo in my atlas. That is not a good location. If you do mean palazzo, can you give an address?

There are two Palazzi Massimo. One is the Palazzo Massimo alle Terme, in which part of the Museo Nazionale Romano is located; it is near the train station and a bad location.

The other is the Palazzo Massimo alle Colonne, which is located on Corso Vittorio Emanuele at Piazza San Pantaleo.

Piazza San Pantaleo and Piazza Rondanini are probably only a few hundred yards apart. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele is a busy main street with a considerable amount of bus traffic.

Thank you Grinisa and Eloise for your help. I am trying to decide on an apartment in October. I have found that the apartments are described in detail but the area where the apartment is located is not. Are either of you familiar with sleepinitaly.com?

I personally have never used sleepinitaly.com, but I think a fair number of people here have. You might try to put <sleepinitaly> or even the name (as listed by the agency) of the apartments you are considering in the search box.

As far as I recall, you have to click on Italy, then on Italy Vacation Rentals. There you can find reviews of individual apartments and under "SlowTrav Favorites" a list of the agencies preferred by SlowTrav users.
