Thank you Eliza for your reply. Here is another option that I quite like. However this too is quite small, only slightly bigger.

I would really appreciate feedback on the location and the general apartment. A comparison between this and the above mentioned apartment would be ideal.

Also now we are going in the first week on March. I don't know if that would make any difference.

Thanks for all your help!

This is the exact address for the last apartment:

VIA DEI CAPPELLARI 37, ROMA.

Thanks again!

Sunlight,

To compare the locations of the latest two choices: They are equally excellent! I would give a "slight" nod in the direction of Via dei Cappellari but only barely.

Therefore I would choose between them based on square footage, flights of stairs (important!), furnishings, lights, etc.

I also rented from Italy-Accom (or Rome-Accom, which is a name the sometimes use for the Rome site). We rented our apartment for a couple of weeks in 2004. It was the Luce A apartment in the Trastevere.

We were pleased with the service and the apartment. Everything went smoothly and the apartment was exactly as described.

Bardo, thanks a lot for your message. In fact the second apartment does seem a little better to us as it is 30sq mts and all on the same floor.

As for lighting, I do see a largish window through which light seems to be coming in. However as stated earlier I am not very adept at making out from pictures, how the apartment would actually look like.

If you people could help me with that, it would be great.

Sforza the apartment that you stayed in looks lovely, however it is way beyond our budget for this trip.

Thanks

I am also looking for an apt. in Rome for this summer. Last year my family of 5 needed a place to stay in London, and a helpful Fodorite suggested I look at the website, "Citybaseapartments.com" Because we had such a great experience with this company, I just looked to see if they have locations in Rome, and sure enough, they do, so I have just emailed them with our information in hopes of finding a place to stay. At least in London, their rates were less than the rates published by other websites for the same location (we stayed at the Citadines). Good luck with your search!

sunlight - of the 2, I would go for the second as while still very small is 50% bigger than the 1st. That is a significant difference.

That said, 30 sq metres is still very small and I note a comment that there is no seating area so I guess you would only have the bed to sit on which would annoy me.

For us, 40 sq metres is about the smallest we would consider but we also always go for a separate bedroom. The location would be great but do consider the noise factor, depending on how close to Campo de Fiori you are as while there may not be traffic noise, the noise of people, cafes and bars goes on until the small hours. It is a fantastic location and the market in Campo de Fiori is great.

The first week of March will still be quite cold and the days relatively short.

I do understand how confusing the choice of apartments can be but we have rented plenty all over Europe and never had a real disaster - by our standards anyway.

Unfortunately centrally located apartments in Rome are expensive.

Hello Eliza,

Good Morning. Thanks for your detailed reply. We have actually gone ahead and booked the second apartment. We are prepared for the apartment being small and hopefully will not mind the noise as much. Both me and my husband are sound sleepers, and also after a day of walking endlessly may be we would too tired to notice anything at all.

The lady from whom we are renting seems quite nice. She says she operates on trust and we could get there and make the full payment. This impressed me immensely.

With our flight tickets booked and a place to stay, now I have to start with the rest of the planning.

I immensely appreciate the help that I have got on this forum. Thanks again.
