Apartment in Italy

My husband and I are going to stay in Siena as a home base for 12 nights in October. I'm trying to find an apartment in the city for a decent price (around $140/night). Does anyone have experience with this? I've been looking at Airbnb, but not having the best luck. Perhaps by price point is unrealistic.
Secondly, I'm looking for suggestions for a cooking class while in Tuscany.
Thanks.

This may be a little high for the budget, but we stayed here a week last September. The windows open up right to the square and it is simply spectacular.
The only negative was that it is a really old building (but well maintained) and you can't flush TP down the toilet, you have to put it in a bin and dispose of it. That was a little yeeecchhhy to me, but I got used to it.

Will you have a rental car? Siena doesn't seem to have as many vacation rental apts as other cities in Italy, particularly in the main part of the city.

As someone suggested, try vrbo.com or homeaway.com

Will you have a car? The train station in Siena is not very central, as I recall.

$140 seems a huge amount for October.

Do you have to be in Siena?

I have stayed at Fattoria Pagnana (http://www.fattoriapagnana.it/en/home/) on occasions in the past for trade fairs in Florence and for 12 days you should be able to obtain a price of about Euro 650 for a great apartment. So for your budget you would have a car as well.
