Apartment in Barcelona

We are looking for an apt in Barcelona for our family (2 adults and 3 kids). What do you think about the location for the apt below?

http://www.vrbo.com/239622

Thanks!

Clau

Looks good to me. From what I recall, that is more of a neighborhood than tourist haven...close to buses, etc.

I personally donn't like Ramblas but some here do.
The apt. Looks dumpy

We rented from Habitat several times...no problems.
Gracia is a nice spot ..Neptuno looks good

If you're going to look at only four apts, go with the last one you listed. The first one has a ridiculous second bedroom that jams two single beds to squeeze "sleeping space." Not good.

The second is 55 m2, the third is 60m2, the fourth (last) is 75m2. A square meter is 10.625 square feet, that means the second and third apartments are less than 700 square feet for five people - that's daft.

Problem is that you need at least 70 m2, two bathrooms and the fourth apt you inquired about may be less up to date than others.

Check out www.apartur.com for apartment rental companies. The problem with Habitat is that if Barcelona is your last stop in the Eurozone, you'll have to exchange a bunch of Eurocash after getting your CASH deposit back and switch it back to dollars (at a bad rate). If you're going to Madrid after Barcelona, this is not a factor.

Habitat DOES NOT ask for a deposit, at least it did not the last time we used them 2 years ago.
Rosselo is on the first floor on a very busy street.

sorry, I meant to say, they did not ask us although they " have the right to ask up to 200 euros"

We had received deposit back on our CC card from rental in Madrid. - .the difference in the exchange
rate was negligible.

What do you think about the apt below? Is it in a good location for sightseeing?

Habitat DOES ask for a deposit. I paid a 20% deposit a couple of weeks ago. I booked Modernista B.

We were discussing a deposit for possible damage at arrival .
The deposit you paid is different....it is part of reservation process.

"The deposit depends on the apartment and also on the total amount of the booking. For example, it is possible that for a stay of 3 nights with a total amount of 500 euros for a particular apartment an advance deposit payment is not required. But for 7 nights at 900 euros an advance deposit is required."

When we rented from Habitat.
we were not asked for the damage deposit, but Habitat has a right to do so,
as most agencies do.

Clau, the apt is nice, perhaps a short walk to El Born and Metro.
If you can get the exact address , you can google the street

You might look for something a bit closer to Catalunya.

I can reccomend you to stay in Hesperia Sant Joan Suites - very cheap hotel in Barcelona! There are quite clean and perfect rooms for staying for family with kids! The one disadvantage - it takes about 40 mminutes to get in the centre of Barcelona.
Also find a good private guide for you trip!
