Apartment at 24 Rue Xavier Privas, Paris

Has anyone had any experience with this apt.? It is through vbro.com. The location looks good and the price is certainly right. Any other suggestions for an apt. under 750 E. week in the 5th or 6th?

Just received a note from Pascal regarding this apt. It is available for when I need it - anyone know this apt., or at least are familiar with the area?

Can't help with the apartment itself, but do know the location.

The rue Xavier Privas is one of the little winding streets right in the bustling touristy area east of place St Michel. It crosses the rue de la Harpe to meet the Quai St Michel (opposite Notre Dame).

Excellent central location for sightseeing, but likely to be noisy at night (and in the day!), as the area is packed with budget restaurants and is always swarming. Not the place to be if you're looking for peace and quiet! But handy if you want a place that you can nip back to easily during the day for lunch or a coffee or whatever.

Thanks hanl. Do you think it is as busy and noisy as rue Huchette?

I'll answer that last one -- yes. It is in the heart of the "cheap and busy" restaurant area. Look at pages juanes and move around the corner and to the sides to see that it is all cheap restuarants -- a gyros shop directly downstairs apparently. Will you be there in warm weather? If so, I can't imagine having windows open without deafening noise until well after midnight. And expect lots of early morning delivery trucks and garbage pickups during the night.
